One of the last events we photographed in 2012 was an awesome Bar Mitzvah at the Metropolitan Pavilion. The wonderful team at Susan Holland Events transformed the space into a teenage wonderland, complete with massive paper airplanes and one crashed blimp.

As for the man of the hour, doesn't he look like he just walked off the set of Casablanca?

The food designers at Pinch put together some crazy tasty treats.

Lisa and Bindy got married in Fort Tryon Park. The spot they picked for their ceremony overlooks the Hudson River and the Palisades and it's completely gorgeous. We recommend taking a special someone up there soon. At least for a smooch, if not for a proposal.

Everyone dined at New Leaf – an amazing spot that Bette Midler (what!) revamped and dedicated to restoring New York City’s parks and gardens. All net proceeds support her organization’s cleaning and greening efforts. Rad? Yes.

Hi fans,

I'm back in New York after a week in Colorado. The scenery alone makes the trip worth it. Maybe not in November, though. Just sayin'.

I photographed my sister and her gorgeous little family at Red Feather Lakes. This is something of a yearly tradition for us and it makes me so, so happy.

And these last few frames were shot in very low light but I love them a lot:

Presenting: our contest winners!

Hi fans,

As you may or may not remember, when the Unusually Fine world headquarters relocated to New York, Margaret and Max held a contest for free wedding photography.

The competition was fierce but our winners were fiercer.

Jesica and Daniel had an amazing farm wedding in the Hudson Valley at Libertyview Farm and we were so lucky to be a part. There was homemade beer and mead, there were goats, and there was apple picking. We absolutely loved it.

And we're quite pleased that the Bride's Cafe loved it, too!

Hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did. Margaret and I hit Brooklyn Bowl to see a bit of the CMJ festival. We especially loved Diamond Rings! Also: who knew Margaret is such a killer bowler? Snap!

We love it when Style Me Pretty features a wedding we've shot. And Jasmin and Steve's wedding is a perfect fit for her. A totally elegant DIY affair in Philadelphia. We drove to the wedding in monsoon rain but just as soon as we pulled into the Appleford Estate the clouds parted, the sun came out, and we photographed a very happy couple on a very happy day.
